About
Notitia
Pronounced  no • tish • ah
Means knowledge, and derives from the latin stem of notus (literally, known)
We wanted a name that reflects what we do - creating trust and knowledge through data.
In history, Notitia Dignitatum was a written database of early Roman civil and military posts across the known world. Even before computing, the word Notitia was associated with data and knowledge.
Our Story
Notitia was founded by Alex Avery, and was very quickly joined by Lisa Byrne. We wanted to take what we've learned from our collective backgrounds in implementing data technologies, leading analytics teams, and applying governance and strategic thinking - and offer our clients something genuinely different.

We focused on genuinely understanding the needs of our initial client base, and striking the balance between deep technical wizardry in implementation, but also ongoing success in governance, communication and strategy. As it turns out, we were onto something! Our clients loved our offering, referring us to their peers, and with that we underwent rapid growth and expansion.

It wasn't long before we started reaching the limits of what could be done with implementing off the shelf tools. We expanded our offering into Design and Development, focusing on creating beautiful, engaging solutions that were customised exactly to our clients needs and wants. As of today, Notitia supports over sixty clients across Australia, with offices in Melbourne and Adelaide and staff working flexibly and remotely.

Corporate and Social Responsibility
We’re proudly wholly Australian-owned and operated business. Our only external stakeholders are our clients. We’re fully committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. Our team reflects this, and our behaviours every day re-enforce this.

We believe in, and support gender equality across all levels of business in all industries. We’re active supporters of both early career and returning to work professionals. We proudly practice flexible working, and have Flexible Working Day Ambassadors in our team. We’re conscious of our impact, both socially and environmentally.

We always push for sustainable solutions, with a commitment to being a net carbon-positive business. We only work with partners and suppliers who meet our sustainability criteria. We practice what we preach, and proudly support socially empowering charities and not for profits.

We are proud to have achieved gender equality across the business, including gender parity in our Director group. Our only focus has been on finding quality people to join us. This focus has naturally led to diversity across backgrounds, genders, disabilities, languages and lived experience.
